    Bennetts Grove, Sydney Post-Punk outfit, are celebrating the release of their establishing self-titled EP, Bennetts Grove.

    After a huge year of new music, shows and growth, Bennetts Grove are bringing their latest chapter to Smith St Hotel for one special night on Friday 16th October 2026. The new EP sees the band exploring a range of emotional themes and hypotheticals, from questions of mortality and uncertainty to reflections on the past, relationships and the strange moments in between.

    Blending abrasive post-punk energy with warm, melodic moments, Bennetts Grove captures a band continuing to find their sound; loud, vulnerable, chaotic and occasionally beautiful.

    Glare is an alternative rock/shoegaze five-piece from the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Since their debut in 2017, the band has wasted no time making a name for themselves at home and abroad with shimmering singles like “Blank” and “Void in Blue”. With the release of their Heavenly EP (the band’s biggest project to date, and second on Sunday Drive Records), Glare find themselves weaving richer soundscapes than ever before, resulting in their heaviest (“Floating”) and dreamiest (“Soft”) compositions to date, evoking glimmers of bands like Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, and Drop Nineteens.

    Equally known for both their wild onstage antics and incredibly well put together instrumental music, The Winfield Road Experiment are back bigger than ever and with a twist! 

    Now featuring an appearance from the amazing guest vocalist Jay Jerome, The Winfield Road Experiment are ready to roll into a mini set of their best instrumental work, before launching into the songs off brand new collaboration album, No Dice. 

    Known for having the silkiest and smoothest vocals in the game, Jay Jarome is an up and coming superstar. Already a prolific songwriter and musician, Jay is lending his talents for one night only. You can check Jay’s incredible vocals on his song – Rain. 

    A disco funk banger that still makes you feel emotions you weren’t quite ready for. It’s the real deal! 

    First on is Trago Amargo: A Naarm/Melbourne band blending cumbia and bolero with soulful vocals, rich harmonies and a bittersweet, nostalgic sound. 

    Then get ready for Anagramm: A fiery genre blending quartet mixing elements of emo, math rock, anime music and modern jazz. Led by guitarist Harper Jobson, expect to hear punchy poppy melodies, head banging riffs and a dose of nostalgic vulnerability.

    Postures ‘Together, Slowly’ album launch

    Melbourne/Naarm group Postures seek moments of solace with their cinematic brand of indie and chamber pop. First conceived as the solo project of songwriter Troy Sheehan, the outfit expanded into a five-piece (Dan Oke, Bridget Chilver, Reuben Dyer & Emily Wilson) with a focus on lush arrangements and dynamic tension, coloured with “twee” sensibilities.

    Their debut album Together, Slowly was largely written during the 2020-21 lockdown. The album’s confessional songwriting captures early heartbreak and suburban stillness, threading personal grief with a broader sense of looming unease. Drawing on dreams as a form of escape using a dramatic orchestral palette, the songs explore coming of age in a time of unprecedented uncertainty. Co-produced by Imogen Cygler, who also provides orchestral arrangements across its nine tracks, the album pairs sweeping strings and woodwinds with textured guitars, piano and drum machines, drawing heavily on film scores.

    Now featuring an appearance from the amazing guest vocalist Hutton, The Winfield Road Experiment are ready to roll into a mini set of their best instrumental work, before they launch into the vocal songs off brand new collaboration album, No Dice. 

    Known for being both the hardest working and most talented man in all of Melbourne, Hutton will warm your heart and make you laugh with his old time-y soul sound! You can check Hutton’s talents on his song – One Last Chance. 

    The warm soulful ballad of a fading love. It’s ridiculous yet painfully honest. Why can’t we all have One Last Chance? 

    First on are Funk Noir Four: The new band of brains trust of Melbourne Jazz, Funk, Blues and Voodoo legend Adam Rudegeair. Expect to hear the dirtiest and the best New Orleans inspired Groovin’ Jazz around. 

    Then we have Rory Tiganis-Hannan: An innovative, genre blurring artist from Melbourne. Drawing on inspiration from Herbie Hancock, Chris Dave, Nate Smith, D’Angelo and Yussef Dayes, his band delivers distinctive, groove filled tunes exploring nu jazz/fusion, layered with soul and hip hop influences. 

    Then The Winfield Road Experiment will take it home with an hour of madness!

    Thundering out of Santa Cruz’s thriving and resurgent music scene, First Day Back have spenttheir final years in college solidifying their place in the emo revival revival. Heralded as the rightful torchbearers of second wave emo, First Day Back recalls the vocal exasperation of Cap'n Jazz, the twinkle of American Football, and the youthful exuberance of Braid, all while reinventing the sound with the organic additions of violin and harmonica.

    A love letter to the past,Their debut and sole album Forward, self-released in June 2025, was recorded utilizing the acoustics of their Empire Grade house living room, and a muted blue that graces the cover matches the outer panelling of this sentimental domicile key to to the band’s foundations and process.

    Freya Josephine Hollick is an Australian singer-songwriter from Ballarat, Victoria, known for her cosmic country style blending country music and the esoteric. A huge Dolly Parton fan, her voice frequently draws comparisons from punters to Dolly’s voice. She is due to release a new album early next year produced by Sydney musician, Jack Ladder, the first single of which will be out this year. Recognized for her poetic lyrics and emotive performances, she has achieved chart success on the ARIA Australian Country and AIR independent charts and is celebrated for her contemplative, meditative creative process.

    Stenn Francis-Deare

    What happens when your parents and all their friends are outsider artists? When they operate a Shakespeare company on the weekends, know the name of every native bird, grow their own tobacco and plant avocado trees in the front yard?

    Stenn Francis-Deare may have tried to escape it all and become a physical therapist, but ultimately had no choice but to become an alternative folk/country/baroque-pop musician. You can’t escape what’s in your bones.

    Originally from the Waikato and now based in Melbourne, Stenn brings songs from his forthcoming debut album There’s A Lot To Give, recorded at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios. His recent singles have been featured alongside Julia Jacklin in Rolling Stone Australia’s Best New Music, and he’s quickly becoming one of the most exciting emerging artists to keep an eye on.
